A leading packaging company in Danville, Virginia is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager. The candidate will be responsible for planning, managing and monitoring the receiving and distribution of all items from suppliers to production shop.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for all procurement, planning and scheduling for Danville facility
• Includes placing orders, storing, organizing services, packing, loading and delivering of products to customer
• Must be able to improve productivity and reducing coasting and securing materials for the company
• Manage the flow of material in and out of the shop floor
• Initiate 5S systems throughout department
• Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies to maintain cost-effective practices
• Implement logistic strategies, tracking goods from the origination point to the warehouse
• Analyzing the supply chain data and solving and issues
• Managing inventory, packing distribution, procurement, planning and scheduling
• Recruit, train, coach and motivate employees in department
• Developing safety guidelines and making sure associates follow company policy
• Implement systems for reduction of waste and improve quality
• Review orders shipped to customers and maximize performance against internal and customer-driven goals
• Maintain daily records: SAP, Daily Reports, Monthly

Requirements include but are not limited to:
• 5 plus years in supply chain management in manufacturing
• APICS or ISM certification preferred
• SAP experience a must
• Strong knowledge of KPIs) Key performance Indicators
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong leadership skill and ability to develop stronger team
• Strong background in scheduling and planning
• Inventory control and cycle counts
• Strong communication skills to work with customers and vendors
• Excellent time management skill and the ability to work under pressure
• Strategic planning and thinking, systems analysis and evaluation
• Complex problem solver, strong organization, interpersonal skills
• Mentor, training and Supervising a team of associates from hourly to salary

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
